So what are we looking for?

Hello people,

As some of you may know, we are looking to hire for our team. This does not mean conventionally we pay you the bog standard salary you sit in front of a computer and start tomorrow. We also don't advertise job roles on our website: As some of you have figured, you take what you know from the site and apply initiative. That's what we want. And we've received some major interest, thank you to all of you who have applied. We do take this in consideration, even if you have not been successful.

So what is the job role like? Something entirely different, ever changing, evolving and with much responsibility. We take the generic terms such as sales, technical and operation, put into the Consult Mac chamber, tailor it to our company with a high end altitude and feel that you've never quite come across.

The roles below prescribed outline what we provide with most of what is required. The job specification when outlined towards you during hiring, will outline much more in depth information.

So this is for the people that wish to know more about what we are ' looking for '
We take the very best of retail, consultancy, sophistication and offer you Ethereal Tech's version
of the three main roles as noted below to give an example of job specification. We don't go into depth into our hiring practices, that is confidential.

1. Sales - Managing  transactions, dealing with procedures of incoming/ outgoing clients to work with Consult Mac
and it's services. Managing a portfolio of clients with the best and professional handling.  Link with clients. Helping consumers/ SMB purchase items.

2. Technical - Becoming an agent that maintains the efficiency of the brand. To exude the talent prospect from our company
Ethereal Tech to provide that ethereal experience in: Consultation - post setup around home/ office/ studio. Diagnostics
for consumer based Macintosh products and portables. Training in individual or group format for the ilife and iwork suites.

3. Operations - Day to day handling tasks of information from e-mail communications,  focusing on advertising and growth, working closely
with the sales team to manage incoming administration requests such as tracking questions, queries and forwarding
to the relevant team. Managing stock intake and facilitating reports for shrinkage and charting our services: consultation, diagnostics and training.

Where is Apple and google really heading?

A brief note on the current stage of Apple and Google:

Some time ago,

Apple used to make Macintosh products, with a price tag, that was expensive. Google was non existent.
Today though, Apple is mainstream, as it was since 2003/4. Google was developing a platform, to recognise itself, to the audience: The world.

Since Google entered the search business, SEO infrastructure, Analytics, GoogleAds, all of these factors play a role in google's success. Apple on the other, focused more on software. A company at the intersection of liberal Arts and technology, amasses a concept that is only delivered by this mega brand.

This is because they provide software solutions, customised by an iconic shell of hardware. Instantly recognisable, then so is Google. Both companies today are unlike the other media platforms out there, that combine social media services together, or devices that record, take pictures, sound in smaller forms, Apple and Google are actually at the opposite ends of convergence.

Both companies clash in the mobile market, Android is gaining heavily, with advertisements today making more noise since the droid came out. Such as the tablet. Android's stability in the market is quite intriguing, at first it was a no growth prospect, but no due to the handful of mobile vendors out there, outpaces iPhone singularly now; this is in conjunction due to it's open policy of application creation.

iPhone with it's reach to Verizon, should catch up on this particular vantage, however with the linear growth Apple is showing currently, both Google and Apple are for certain toppling the likes of Nokia, Blackberry recently for Apple, including the newly announced Microsoft operating system. In fact, Apple in it's next earnings call, could pass Microsoft's net profit.  Just not operating margins as Apple makes low margin hardware Microsoft makes high margin based software.

iAd, Admob from Google, Google is clearly more defined in the advertising space, more idealistic to say that Google has a focal viewpoint on search and advertising that knows, how to reach to it's audience. Apple seem pretty eager in this field, however with it's growth not as recognised so much as google.

Will Apple enter the search business? The point is, both of these companies Google and Apple are not in any where near convergence, more parallel solutions that now and then meet at a point, with one company having gaining on the other in a product category.

As people say, it's now down to the TV market. GoogleTV anyone?  Or i ask again, what if Apple entered the search business?

Interview and stages

Hi all,

So we are progressing through interviews at the moment. for future hiring in Dubai.

We are scheduled to arrive around March. Due to our facilitation and setup, including hiring
this is dependent upon our services and outreach.

We are already gaining clients being a startup and looking forward to hiring a very select few of people
for our high end consultancy service: Consult Mac.

We have some plans in the mix to move forward with this strategy,

we do things a bit different with our hiring practices, not your conventional retail or hiring approach.

This includes various tests, questions, live operation of our business as some out there
may be familiar with, active learning, reading, preparing..

There is a lot involved because of the calibre, of the people we work with.

A lot of people are not passing first stage because they do not entail the basics of Mac.

Please make sure if your reading this, before you apply that you are familiar with the Mac,
at a medium level and so we can make it an interesting prospect, should we consider to move forward.

Thanks again.

Retail services in Dubai including grey market products

Hi Mac users and those wishing to switch,

as we understand the current Mac environment in Dubai, there is a plethora of options available for potential purchasers, including those who wish for after support.

So where exactly do you guys go to?

From what we heard, iStyle is the main user's frame of choice. This is because they do, provide great services for buying products. Or iDigi, or even Jumbo electronics is usually what our users tells us.

From what we know and have spoken to, with our customer is.. The buying experience tends to be usually, quite mediocre, realism portrays that after service is poor. Well a lot of people say this and only recently we find out why. We thought it was because there is no after service, there is. We realise now fully, the link
between after sales, consumer purchase, diagnostics, it's not very cohesive in Dubai.

You may walk into Mercato mall for example, seeing an iPhone stand selling cases.. Or go into an iStyle store in Mirdiff shopping centre and see exactly the same thing. however what if you had options, in other areas, support for your phone, or how to customise Apps, someone dedicated to speak to?

That's where we come in. Sure it's fantastic to buy a Mac from iStyle, because you know it's from ABM right? And they talk to Apple right? Yes. Doesn't necessarily mean, our line of products even though we don't work directly with ABM is any different. We chose not to work with ABM.

We know Apple very well, as we worked in the retail stores, helped to make it a lot of what you guys see today.

That's because we are high end, the best, providing services in Dubai that do not simply, exist. Your needs is our priority, so we make sure each machine meets that need. If it doesn't, we'll do everything we can the second time around. Were not perfect, we are new and upcoming, opening very soon.

Rest assured, you are our best clients, we look forward to focusing on your Macintosh needs.

We are booking now and we are gaining much interest, e-mail us for future bookings as soon as possible.

iPod and iPhone Sync

Welcome Mac and PC users this time..

Apple have released some great products throughout, obviously the iPod and iPhone. However what do you guys think of the syncing process involved with iTunes. We hear some of our customers say it's convenient and practical, everything works..

To: well they find the process not great on iTunes with windows, or not so great on Mac trying to sync certain playlists.

We thought we'd shed some light on this process. Firstly, iPod and iPhone have been around for a while.
From the hard disk based, to flash drives for better performance, to the more feature capable iPhone, it has been complemented with, iTunes and the necessary software upgrades. What makes an iPod so different is, the accessibility is simple.

Although Sony, including other manufacturers may make better ' looking ' products, the system of iPod, accessories, music and more, called the iPod eco system makes it a worthwhile purchase.

However when we get that iPod, we wish to put or ' sync'  accordingly with all of our information.

To simplify things, we will just note how this goes about. in iTunes, once you connect your device, tou have, tabs at the top, for the information you need. Such as Music, photos and more,  including the relevant options below that such as which playlists you wish to sync or more.

All you really have to do, is press the item of your choice, then select ' sync ' on the right hand side in the corner.

We understand not all customers have this simple objective, Apple stores have one to one training to show you how to customise your Apple product even further with iTunes, from playlists that have your exact criteria of songs that you have set, or managing your music content better..

We can show you all of that. We are open to take bookings for clients and assimilating a highly professional team already to manage your requests.

Book a consultation, if you're buying a new Macintosh and want us to set it up by showing you the basics of Mac OS and an overview on iTunes, let us know. We can facilitate with all this.

Book diagnostics should you require assistance if your already a Mac user, on iTunes library, settings or general issues.

Or book a training session with one of our consultants, from showing you how to set up iTunes for your first iPod, iPhone or iPad. To what applications are useful for your need, we focus on your bespoke training needs.

Thanks!

Hello Mac users,

Welcome to a new start of the week. Many of you must be be enjoying the creative outlook of the Mac, the accessibility, ease of use today @ work, whilst i'm guessing the rest must be PC users.. :)

On that note,

let's talk about our clients. Our clients are of the highest calibre of Dubai. They are engaging, need a service on time, appropriate to meet the needs of a specific criterion. Most resellers you walk into,
provide a simple service, for a customer who wishes one or two things.

Yesterday, we signed up a SMB in Dubai, Geeqer, for our consultation service. To give an idea of what this involves, we customise every specific request. So for example, should you wish for an application to be on the third page on your iPhone, or if you do not like the shortcut send key on the Mac to send e-mail ( some users don't ) Tthen we change everything.. We get to work and formulate ideas, brainstorm from suggestions, then.. that - an amazing end solution.

App store at 10 Billion

Who remembers the first iPhone?

Slick looking back, silver logo.. 8GB on the back, beautifully crafted. Jonathan Ive at Apple sure has a way of designing products for Apple. Well it wasn't for John Rubenstein's team behind the first
iPod, maybe iPhone wouldn't be here today.

The instantaneous simplicity, the accessibility of cover flow, the iPod logo for full music access.
This was more than a simple phone, it was a proper engaging smartphone that people could use.

People could see potential, especially with the Appstore.

Today the App store is about to reach 10 Billion downloads..

Here is Consult Mac's list of our favourite apps, we thought we'd share them with you..

EVERYONE should have if you can, travelling, a tourists, have a country specific iTunes account,
attempt to get these:

1. FaceBook
2. Skype
3. Kayak
4. Voucher cloud
5. AroundMe
6. Keeper
7. WhatsApp
8 Time out Dubai
9. Convertor.
10. iDisk

Apple retail store results

So Mac just had the best quarter results ever. Retail went up. However what was interesting, was 80 + stores that were not in the US are making more of an impact sales wise.

This means the traffic must be substantial. With reference to the results, it was China that was overlooking a region of Apple enthused customers. Apple plans to really look into this market.

Mac sales however, were actually down this quarter, even though 6 more stores opened with an average 321 compared to 301 to last quarter. Average store revenues although were higher this quarter.

The retail segment in Apple retail is growing, not at a rapid rate though compared to the overall company.

I look forward to Ron Johnson overseeing what aspects of retail work, what doesn't during this coming quarter.

So far, they plan to implement a new setup program for anyone who buys a Mac. More business focused incentives also.

It's a step in the right direction for what i say.. Fantastic.

So what is Apple really like in this region?

To All Mac Users ( including some PC )

You know,

With Apple, we always have this inclination that wherever we go to buy products, it has to live up to some ' hype '
or notion. For example,

going into a store that smells nice, looks cool, immediately catches our attention.. And the benefit
of having the right service means it's ticked all the boxes.. Are we really that simple?

Consult Mac offers a diverse array of Apple solutions in Dubai, from bespoke consultation, to setting up in your home,
to training.. Our individual tastes for what can be done with a product has taken to a new height.

Apple  Dubai, is really just a place with many stores, services, with some catering towards the professional markets. Some to the consumer.

It's pretty diverse, some great, others not. From the various complaints, to the many comparisons to the official Apple retail stores. Apple Dubai is very scarce however, of that mainstream system of consumer satisfaction.

Many mystery shoppers in 08 were claiming this, on average around 40%. So it's about time we entered the market and did something with services. The below is not exclusive to every single store, just most:

You can't walk into a store and have the support you need.. without someone telling you to go elsewhere.. This is Apple Dubai

You can't mention you want to train without someone telling you they don't know or simply, go somewhere they charge a ridiculous amount of dirhams.

We take care of you, we offer the above, the market needs an established orientation behind continuous support for our customers. We are open 24/7 and cater towards the mass market mainly, also however to the professional markets.

We look forward to hearing from you
